Once they are fitted, it is safe to apply the bleach and carry on with the teeth whitening treatment. A bleaching gel agent is also required with the trays, which contains the main ingredients for the teeth to start taking effect. After making sure that the tray is tightly fit to the teeth, a little amount of gel should be applied into the trays. It is important to make sure that the tray is not overfilled; only a small amount is required, less than half.

This kind of treatment is usually performed on the front set of teeth as they are the ones which get noticed first and it is quite difficult to apply the tray and the gel at the back teeth.
